Forklift brands don't all offer the same equipment. Some focus more heavily on forklifts, while others have equipment for different material handling or jobsite needs. Looking at the brand name alone won't tell you what you can actually buy. The useful part is seeing which equipment each brand has and whether it fits the job you need to handle.
If you're searching for “what forklift brands are available in Houston?”, you may find several names while looking around. That sounds simple enough. But a brand list doesn't tell you what each company actually has available. One brand may have several forklift models. Another may show up because it makes telehandlers or other lifting equipment.
At American Lift & Equipment, Inc., we work with several brands, and they don't all serve the same purpose. Tailift is a major part of our forklift lineup. We also carry Master Craft equipment, along with Snorkel and Xtreme equipment. So instead of asking which brand is “best,” it makes more sense to ask what equipment each brand brings to the table.
Tailift gives us a broad forklift lineup
Tailift is a big part of what we sell. Our current Tailift listings include LPG and diesel forklifts, electric forklifts, pallet jacks, and stackers. The listed forklift capacities also vary quite a bit, from smaller trucks up to heavy-duty models. For example, our site currently lists a 3,500-lb LPG Tailift PFG18, a 4,000-lb three-wheel electric ZFBT20-L, and larger diesel and LPG models.
That matters because a customer looking for a warehouse forklift isn't necessarily looking for the same equipment as someone moving heavier material. We are the authorized Tailift dealer serving the Greater Houston area, and we also serve Beaumont.
Master Craft has its own place in the lineup
Master Craft isn't simply another name for the same forklifts. Our current Master Craft category has two listed products: a tugger and a C-Series forklift. The C-Series listing gives buyers more detail about what that equipment can be configured to do. The page lists mast options from 12 to 21 feet and different carriage widths, along with a 74-horsepower John Deere engine and available fork positioners.
That's useful when you're comparing brands because the equipment category matters. A customer who needs a standard forklift may be looking at a different part of our lineup than someone looking for equipment built around a particular material handling task.
Snorkel and Xtreme cover different equipment
Snorkel and Xtreme are also part of our current lineup, but they aren't simply duplicates of the Tailift forklift range. Our site currently lists Snorkel equipment, while the Xtreme category includes the XR2450-D and XR843-B telehandlers.
That distinction is worth knowing.
If someone searches “what forklift brands are available in Houston?”, they may expect every brand on a dealer's site to represent another standard forklift option. That's not necessarily how it works. For example, the Xtreme XR843-B listed on our site is a telehandler with a 43-foot lift height and 26 feet 11 inches of forward reach. That's a very different machine from a warehouse forklift. The name on the machine matters. So does the type of machine behind the name.
Look at the equipment under the brand
This is probably the part buyers should pay more attention to. Don't stop after seeing a brand name. Open the equipment category and see what's actually there. Our current shop lists Tailift, Master Craft, Snorkel, Xtreme Manufacturing, and other equipment categories. The number and type of products can differ from one brand to another. That gives you a better idea of what you're actually choosing between.
If you need a forklift, start with the forklift models. If you need a telehandler, look at the telehandler options. If you already know the brand you want, we can work from there too. There's no need to make the search harder than it needs to be.
Brand names don't replace the actual model
Two forklifts from different manufacturers can be built for similar work. Two models from the same manufacturer can also be quite different. That's why the brand is only one part of the conversation.
The model tells you what you're actually looking at. Then you can check its capacity, lift height, power type, mast setup, dimensions, and other specifications. That's different from choosing a brand based only on recognition.
When customers ask us, “What forklift brands are available in Houston?”, we can tell them which brands we currently represent. But we also want to know what equipment they're looking for.
At American Lift & Equipment, Inc., we can talk through the available Tailift, Master Craft, Snorkel, and Xtreme equipment based on what you're trying to move and where you'll use it.
Ask what is actually available
Brand lists can give you a starting point. They shouldn't be the end of the search. Models change. Inventory changes. A brand may have several types of equipment, while only some of those machines make sense for your application.
- So if you're asking “what forklift brands are available in Houston?”, start with the brands, then look at the actual equipment.
- Already have a model in mind? Give us the model number.
- Not sure which brand makes sense? Tell us what you're trying to move and where the equipment will work.
We'll help you look at the available options, provide a quote, and arrange a demo when appropriate.
